Q: WHY SHOULD I SAY “NO” TO SINGLE-USE PLASTIC?

A: Our excessive reliance on disposable plastic is overwhelming our oceans and landfills.

  • By 2050, the oceans will contain more plastic than fish by weight.
  • Americans alone discard more than 30 million tons of plastic a year; only 8% of it gets recycled.
  • Over the last ten years, we have produced more plastic than during the whole of the last century.
  • Plastic chemicals can be absorbed by the body – 93% of Americans age six or older test positive for the plastic chemical BPA.

Q: WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES OF YOUR BEESWAX FOOD WRAPS?

A: Our food wraps are perfect for avoiding food waste whilst keeping your food fresh. They are naturally:

  • Antibacterial
  • Biodegradable
  • Breathable
  • Reusable
  • Sustainable
  • Washable
  • Water-resistant

Q: WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS OF YOUR BEESWAX FOOD WRAPS?

A: Our beeswax wraps are handmade in Brockville, Ontario from 100% cotton which is infused with pure Canadian beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resins. Each wrap is individually handcrafted, and so is subtly unique.

Q: HOW DO I USE MY BEESWAX FOOD WRAP?

A: Simply wrap your food and create a mold using the warmth of your hands. Use in the fridge, out of the fridge, in your lunchbox, or at the campsite. Use it on absolutely anything where you would otherwise be using plastic. Keep away from heat as this will melt the beeswax.

Q: TO WHAT & HOW TO APPLY BEESWAX FOOD WRAPS

A: Use anywhere you would otherwise be using plastic, but not with raw meats.

SMALL WRAP  - wrap the end of a cucumber, half a lemon or an avocado - even a small snack.  Save your onion but not that smell!

MEDIUM WRAP - great to store cheese (my favourite application), wrap a muffin or cover a bowl.

LARGE WRAP – perfect to wrap a crusty loaf of bread and great to stop a bunch of fresh herbs from going slimy.

BUTTONED WRAP – build your lunch, set on the wrap and fold in the corners, toss string around the button and have the best-dressed sandwich in town!

Q: DO YOUR BEESWAX FOOD WRAPS HAVE A SMELL?

A: Yes!  The sweet smell of beeswax. This smell can differ slightly from batch to batch as the nectar collected by the bees is influenced by the characteristics of the flowers within an 8km radius of the hive. However, your food will not take on the smell or taste of beeswax.

Q: HOW DO I CLEAN MY BEESWAX FOOD WRAP?

A: Wipe down with a damp cloth.  If required, use a mild soap and rinse using cold water. Pat dry and fold to store.

Q: HOW LONG WILL MY BEESWAX FOOD WRAP LAST?

A: Beeswax wraps can last from a few months up to a year, all depending on how hard their life has been. In their second life, they can be repurposed and used to open jar lids, or scrunch them up and make awesome fire starters!

Q: WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF BEESWAX CLOTH?

A: Historically beeswax cloth was used for wrapping Egyptian mummies. It has since morphed into a modern-day food wrap, currently being made by numerous producers – or you can make your own too! Whichever route you take, we are happy you’ve decided to take a step closer towards living minimal waste.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR SHIPPING COSTS?

A: Free shipping in Canada. We are happy to ship expedited or tracked for an additional cost. Once placed, these orders are typically shipped within 3-5 business days.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

A: Disappointed with your purchase? Let's talk - please contact us with the details right away – we want you to be 100% satisfied. We, unfortunately, cannot accept returns on the wax wraps, since they are a food storage product.
